NC Transportation Museum News

The 2019 NC Region Muscle Car exhibit at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC is over and the display was wonderful.  The NC museum held a brief ceremony to recognize the NC Region members who had displayed their Muscle Cars at the Museum during January and February. Executive Director of the Transportation Museum Kelly Alexander, current NC Region President John Allred, and previous NC Region President Bill Cox addressed the group and presented the awards. The awards for the participants were certificates and special train car plaques commemorating the event. The certificates and plaques both included a special new logo designed by David Allen.  NC Transportation Exhibit Coordinator LeAnne (Kathryn) Johnson, who worked closely with Tom Wright to coordinate the exhibit, was presented a Certificate of Appreciation from National AACA. After the awards ceremony Kellyanne serve us the best cake with a buttercream icing!

The museum has asked me to look into an exhibit of Mini Cars for 2020. Most of the mini cars I’m familiar with were produced in England and Germany. If you know an NC Region or chapter member who owns a mini car and who would like to participate in the 2020 mini car exhibit at the museum, have them contact me. Please encourage your members to let me know by 30 April 2019 if they have a car or cars they would like to exhibit.   The 2020 exhibit is planned to run December 2019 through February 2020.  A shortage of mini cars will of course change the theme of the exhibit, and require another theme and type of car to be chosen.
