2015 NC Region Fall Meet Report

2015 NC Region Fall Meet Reports

Spencer, NC – Saturday Oct. 17, 2015

The 2015 NC Region Fall meet was again hosted by Furnitureland Chapter on the grounds of the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC on October 17, 2014.  There were 88 entries including HPOF, DPC, and Class Judged vehicles. The cool sunny weather was near perfect for a car show. The Furnitureland Chapter members again planned an excellent show.  They had laid out the field, arranged for a food vendor, directed parking, and provided a meeting room for the Board Meeting.  The vehicles that entered the show were excellent examples of vehicles in their class.  New Chief Judge, Randy Stone  received the applications and organized the judging assignments.  The judging was done by NC Region members and was completed between 11 am and noon. After the judging was completed the NC Region Members enjoyed lunch, viewed the cars and trucks and traded stories.   At 3:00 p.m. the Awards were presented by Jack Harris and the Furnitureland members.  There were several new Red Birds and repeat preservation awards were presented along with repeat HPOF and DPC judging results. Continuing their past years trophy theme, the Furnitureland Chapter arranged to have a flat bed train car hauling hauling a trailer.  Denny Oestreich

Bill Cox, N.C. Region Vice President’s Report

October is such a beautiful month… especially here in North Carolina where we have crisp Fall days with plenty of sunshine and fresh air. The day of the N.C. region Fall Meet in Spencer certainly did not disappoint us either as it was just about a perfect day to be outside. We were blessed with great weather, a full array of interesting vintage vehicles and a bunch of us old crazy car people!

The Spencer Transportation Museum was the perfect venue for the show. It seems to me that there is a lot of activity at the museum as there were more restored rail cars to see and the museum is moving forward with additional building projects and exhibits. If you haven’t been, you should make it a day trip to do so… even if there’s not a first class car show like we experienced that day.

I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves… if you didn’t get to join us, I hope you enjoy them.
