North Central Chapter held its Christmas meeting December 2nd at the Homestead Steak House Timberlake, near Roxboro with nineteen members in attendance. Christmas gifts were exchanged and everyone had a joyful evening.
Our club lost one of its senior members on November 5th. Life member, Eunice Davis Chandler went to be with her Lord and Savior. Eunice was married to club member Jack Chandler for 58 years. Her personality was lively and outgoing and her humor will be sorely missed in our organization. This was a great loss to her family but our heavenly Father’s gain. Eunice always had a way of communicating what was on her mind and she never ever minded at all in expressing her opinion whether it included business or pleasure. Jack will miss her a lot. Her funeral was November 12th and club members drove classic cars to her resting place on Pixley Pritchard Road to the Davis family cemetery near the Surl Community, Person County.
At our chapter meeting on January 6th we elected offi cers for 2013. Officers re-elected are: Forrest Cozart, President; Donald Oakley, Vice President; Andrea Oakley, secretary and Wayne Clayton, Treasurer
The club voted to present the Fred Long Memorial trophy to Donald and Andrea Oakley to keep for this year through 2013. The late Fred Long was one of our chapter’s charter members. This trophy has been shared by North Central Chapter members for one year at a time in memory of Fred Long for many years since his passing. He was a dedicated member to the North Central Chapter, NC Region as well as AACA National. Our members consider it a great honor to share this trophy yearly and then to vote to share with another family year after year.
Enjoy your time with your fellow car club members during this year
