2020 NC Region Meet at Spencer, NC
Thanks to the special negotiations done by Jack Harris and the Furnitureland Chapter with the NC Transportation Museum at Spencer, we were able to hold the 2020 NC Region Fall Meet. The show was very successful considering the special social distancing constraints. The Museum Grounds were well manicured and seasonally decorated with many scarecrows including one representing the NC Region that was prepared by Jack and Audrey Harris. The NC Transportation Museum grounds had the show cars arranged over the entire campus area with vehicles parked at good distances from each other. There were hand sanitizers everywhere and masks were worn by everyone. The NC Region Board Meeting was held in the Back-shop building with social distancing.
The weather was excellent for a car show. The museum facilities had just reopened, and you could walk around to see the displays. They have obtained many new vehicles which were on display. The only thing missing this year was the hot dog tent.
There were 63 vehicles on display with many participants anxious to get out and show their vehicles for the first car show this year. The entered vehicles were all excellent examples. There were 6 first time Redbirds, 8 first time HPOF, and one 1 first time DPC award. The judging was done with two person teams.

2015 NC Region Fall Meet Reports

October is such a beautiful month… especially here in North Carolina where we have crisp Fall days with plenty of sunshine and fresh air. The day of the N.C. region Fall Meet in Spencer certainly did not disappoint us either as it was just about a perfect day to be outside. We were blessed with great weather, a full array of interesting vintage vehicles and a bunch of us old crazy car people! The Spencer Transportation Museum was the perfect venue for the show. It seems to me that there is a lot of activity at the museum as there were more restored rail cars to see and the museum is moving forward with additional building projects and exhibits. If you haven’t been, you should make it a day trip to do so… even if there’s not a first class car show like we experienced that day. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves… if you didn’t get to join us, I hope you enjoy them.
